Its crystals are of orthorhombic shape

The Naturally Occurring Pearls are white, white with slight touch of pink, brown and black

Natural Pearls are found in Scotland, France, Ireland, Austria, Germany and USA.

Cultured pearls: Japan, China, Australia and India.

Note: It is sometimes difficult to distinguish natural pearls from cultured pearls; however natural pearls have concentric layers around a nucleus, whereas the cultured pearls have spherical layers.
