Then lay down a black cloth on a small stool and put the Statue of Lord Shani on it. If it is not available, then betel can be put in place of the statue as a symbol, and bathe it with Panchmrit and Panchgavya. After this, apply sindoor, vermilion, and kajal and offer blue-colored flowers, shrifal, and fruits. Mustard oil and sesame oil are also offered to Lord Shani, and after lighting a lamp, Shani Chalisa, and Shani Mantra are chanted. As the last step, Arti is done and Lord Shani is asked to forgive any mistakes done in past.
